Focusing on the things I don...Thank you Brenda,

Focusing on the things I don't like/enjoy goes a bit against my grain, but it was a good exercise none-the-less!

I think the sheeple mentality comes down to people wanting to belong: to a group, a tribe, an organization, a club, etc... In an odd way it seems to be a type of belonging that makes some feel better about who and what they are. That's not to say that all people who belong to some kind of group or club are sheeple, but it is that underlying current of needing it, rather than wanting it that seems to be one of the motivators.

That's my tidbit of insight for this round... no doubt it will morph with more information ;-)

Thanks for peeking in!k~https://www.blogger.com/profile/17308736457276683273noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6323534633493086556.post-38072975202392625602012-01-18T13:06:45.667-08:002012-01-18T13:06:45.667-08:00This is a great list of peeves.. You made me laugh hard, and out loud!

The clause you added to #7 is legit, I would not tolerate that... nope, not even a little bit, and could not "understand" it in any real fashion. So, see, by sharing your thoughts, you have altered mine (slightly heh).

#8 however, is as it stands. I have found no real reason to use the term (though on occasion I still do, because of old habits) if time is taken to consider the wording in another manner. So even the "You should think about what you want in this situation!" is a guilt evoking statement, that could be better put as "What do you think you want in this situation?" uh huh... yep, that one I am keeping (and working on at the same time LOL).

Thanks for a great response!k~https://www.blogger.com/profile/17308736457276683273noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6323534633493086556.post-7167160003178014182012-01-17T14:23:31.100-08:002012-01-17T14:23:31.100-08:00I love the "sheeple," too. In fact I go a little overboard: I pride myself on not following any trends, not reading best sellers, etc. I admit I'm kind of a snob about anything that's "popular." The biggest hypocrite I know hosts Germany's search for the Next Teen Idol.
7) People who judge another without any understanding of their situation - I get into a philosophical bind on this one. How much "understanding of their situation" is required before you judge a man committed of multiple child molestation?
8) Hearing the combination "You should…" in any conversation - Really? Doesn't it depend on how you use it? Like in the sentence: "You should think about what you want in this situation!" Does that evoke guilt?
9) Sheeple - Like in "herd conformity"? It's N° 5 on the list of the 9 Deadly Satanic Sins, because it's considered a form of psychological slavery. The death of any ant-like colony structure is when people start to think for themselves. It makes controlling organization redundant.Celeste Neumannhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06121686507934885254noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6323534633493086556.post-60001553059703132362012-01-17T07:15:12.853-08:002012-01-17T07:15:12.853-08:00... or any of their homework for them?
