Lance at the 100 Word Song Challenge asks you to write 100 words
(no more, no less) in whatever genre, or fashion you are inspired to
write in, using the song of the week to get you there.
This week's 100 Word Song challenge inspiration is from 311's "Beautiful Disaster"
Captivating Chaos~
A streetlight shimmered on wet pavement in front of her
feet. With no umbrella to keep her dry, she sat on the edge of the curb
thinking that the black in the stripes of her knee socks matched the wet
blacktop.
A thick, mop of wet hair dripped with a different rhythm
than the rain, she could feel them both.
Words she spat at him, splashed down on her head. “I never want to see you again, I wish you
would disappear!”
Her life was such a beautiful disaster, and every chance she
got she painted it again with pain.
That last line drew straight through my heart. Very vividly painful!
ReplyDeleteThank you t~ This one wanted to be so much longer; I had to shave it back.
DeleteNever be afraid to shave, but don't be fearful of branching off either =)
DeleteAgreed the last line did it. I want to know more.
ReplyDeleteHi Alyssa, :-) It is always a compliment to want to know more. This one may grow...
