Blind to the Lie

Blind to the Lie

The night is young and you're feeling old

bored at home, you want something more

Sweet romance, a sexy dance

Thinkin' that you'll take a chance

Secrets swept up under the rug

Over things you're thinking of

When your hearts on fire

and you're blind to the lie

who's your alibi?

While you're out there on the road

Are you thinkin' she's at home?

Shadow creeper, pillow sneaker

open back door window peeper

Mystified, half outta your mind

Whatcha think your gonna find?

When your hearts on fire

and you're blind to the lie

Who's your alibi?

Who's your alibi?

  5. Love the word play!

And I may very well use "The Pillow Sneaker" as my name should I ever become a super hero :)

  7. Love the play with the rhythm of the rhyme...smart stuff! And super fun to read aloud...but I'm working a more hiphop vibe when I do.

    1. Interesting, that would be a fun twist. I usually write the way I hear it in my head, and there have been very few that I heard as hip-hop right out of the gate. After reading what you wrote, I went back and looked at it again, with "new" eyes and I could hear it! Thanks for a new perspective.

  8. I know some of the other commenters have said this, but it really does sound like a song to me. I'm a singer and I can "hear" this sung with an acoustic guitar.

    1. Well Victoria, I love to write lyrics, so if you feel the muse, put it down, sing it out, and let me hear what you come up with!

  9. You definitely have talents beyond most people and it shines through in any post you make. This song should really be published so it can capture it's rightful place as number one on the top hits list. Good work *two thumbs up*
