Twice a month Ariana Browning gives folks a prompt from The Blogging Lounge. The prompt for this challenge is:
"Dear Younger Self..."
Dear Red,
Being a redhead is an honour, there are a rare few that wear it naturally, wear it proudly.
Save all the emotion that you toss into your pillow, he's not worth it.
It doesn't matter what the cool kids think, when you grow up, you won't like them anyway.
Forget sticking your finger down your throat to get to that perfect figure everyone seems to want, but no one has, it won't work and you'll pay for the damage done later.
Keep standing up for people who have difficulty standing up for themselves, eventually, it makes a difference, and they will always remember the kindness.
That little feeling inside of you, you know the one that makes you feel like your stomach is coming up through your throat? It's a warning sign, whatever it is you are doing, stop. Wherever it is you are going, turn around. Whoever you are around, move away from them. These are your instincts trying to let you know you are in danger. Instead of believing that everyone else can be trusted, trust your instincts, they will never lead you astray… if only you listen.
Be careful with people that make you feel good, they have the power to make you feel bad.
People who tell you that you are too emotional, don't know how to handle emotion and have no business telling you to ignore yours. Walk away, they don't deserve your time.
Above all, remember that everything that happens to you, for you, around you, and because of you, is yours to reap the lesson from. Each time you learn something it molds the person you will become, and from this side, I can tell you, you're a pretty terrific human, so let them roll on through. Keep your heart wide open, laugh loud, live, love, and dance like nobody's watching.
Love,
Me
