Another You

driven by free flowing thought.. rambunctious... impractical

Circle above the skin with apprehension
like a mosquito waiting for the time to pierce
and drink the rush of flush flesh
alternately laughing... crying
old woman face peers through an open window
let the light in
despite the dark within
clambers for higher ground
light, then sound
pales in comparison
to the transient transmission
of vagrant souls
rat-a-tat-tat
on an ice window
rat-a-tat-tat
eerily scratching
bone deep

silence broken by the sound of snow falling

Can you hear me?
Bare feet on fresh snow
Can you see me?
Misty vapours in the fog
Can you catch me?
Broken wing flutters by

Bask behind the mask
Illusions of grandeur
soften the fall.
