If you knew that your actions made a difference in the life of someone
else, would it make a difference in your actions? If you knew that
someone else would live or die, fail or succeed depending on a comment made in
terse disregard for anyone, would you still make it? If you knew that your
silence, would keep another from speaking up, would you remain quiet?
Empathy is a double edged sword. It's bitter bite comes from
a source, travels through a second source and is released again (or is it?).
Bittersweet, awareness can be the anti-sheeple, anti-human,
anti-social trigger for an empath. A walk through the parking lot of a downtown
mall tells stories that could keep them occupied for weeks. Download, reload,
move forward and do so with grace! Not much to ask right?
Today it is.
Full.
So someone made you um should I say mad today? It is festering? Whatever it was, it was not for you, it was from them. Let it go. It belongs to the speaker not to the listener, unless you allow it.

Thank you Diva, it is now proudly placed on my blog! :-)
DeleteDiva, I found a list of "rules" attached to the receiving of the Versatile Blogger Award on another blogger's site. The thing is, it was a different badge (in looks). I am not sure if I am supposed to or not, but I will make another post with the rules I found (they are kind of cool ya know), and give kudos to a few more bloggers on the way IF it is the same dealio. (yep my word, Webster will probably swipe it from me, but what the heck hehehhe).
DeleteNow on to the rules of response when nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award:
Delete1. Nominate 15 fellow bloggers for The Versatile Blogger Award.
2. Add an image of the Versatile Blogger Award.
3. In the same post, thank the blogger who nominated you in a post with a link back to their blog.
4. In the same post, share 7 completely random pieces of information about yourself.
5. In the same post, include this set of rules.
6. Inform each nominated blogger of their nomination by posting a comment on each of their blogs.
Once you have your nomination, pass on your own nods of Versatility, it is a great honor.
An empath myself, I can say it is both blessing and curse. Would I want to lose the empathy? No, but I must act carefully because if I see a need, I give more than I should ~ often simply taken in by sympathy... I usually think well before acting or speaking, but I am human, so I sometimes find that I have inadvertently hurt someone. On the other hand, once burned, I have turned a stone cold heart to the offender. I don't like me sometimes....
ReplyDeleteDarlene, It is indeed a blessing and a curse. Like most things which can be considered gifts, that also involve emotion. Recognizing that we have a responsibility first to ourselves, is key in maintaining balance (at least for me it is). When I have a doorway (so to speak) from the outside world to the core of me that is missing a screen, it becomes more difficult.
DeleteThank you for your insights! :-)
