Time (GBE2 WK 36)

GBE2 WK36 Prompt: Time
Time, in the many ways we view it.

Too fast: when we are doing something we love to do.
Too slow: when we are doing something we don't want to do.
Not enough: when we want to do more of what we are doing.
Too much: when we don't know what to do.

Time is a system of measurement created by, and for human beings to keep track of intervals, or distances between.

During

After

Before

Around

~aka ~

occasions

moments

hours, minutes, seconds,

instances

points

eras

Words give us an arsenal of methods to measure the variable that defines our lives… it marks that point at which something significant takes place.

Sometimes limited, sometimes unspecified, always kept track of by someone, somewhere.

It is used as an awareness point that helps to make reference between then, and now… past, present, or future.

…in their own time

…serving time

… all in good time

…when the time comes

… for all time

…all the time

…at the same time

…sometimes

…behind the times

…biding time

They even have courses you can take on managing your time efficiently.

Musicians have to understand how to keep time.

Parents know the value of  "I told you already three times!"

Coaches and players understand time out.

Degrees are awarded for time spent.

You can mark time, take time, and even have play time, in your own time.

Versatile… Time.

  9. It's amazing how many phrases relate to time. Great song! You don't have to worry about taking time to reply to my comments. I rarely get back to read people's responses anyway. :(

  10. The geek in me really likes how you presented this.. each phrase relates to time, but each conjures a different aspect of time and how it relates to our lives. Nicely played.

I can't even whine about the subject time, oh but I do, all the time. Oh well, I guess those dust bunnies can build a condo in the corner of the living room because me allocating time to Hoover them up is not on my to-do list this week.

  13. Cool way to approach the topic. How about space and time. That's a whole 'nother way to look at time and how enormous, endless it is. Just consider how long it takes for light to reach us from a distant star and then realise that what it is, when it reaches us, is history, a moment in far distant time... Blows my mind.

    1. That's a really cool insight Mojo. I can remember the first time someone explained to me that the shooting star we see in front of our eyes, is no more than history replaying events that happened in another time. It's a fascinating train of thought to ride!

      Thank you:-)
