B ~ Borrowed Bits

Borrowed Bits~

An old red dress

rests on metal shoulders

between green satin

and high school memories

in a closet of yesteryear shadows

borrowed fifteen summers ago

before my "colours" were

autumn by default.

A book on origami

nestled beside Hatha Yoga

and Nancy Drew

on a shelf abandoned

three winters ago

fondled with feather dust-fingers

as time defines the interval

in memoirs of borrowed bits.

  6. I think back to that part of my life-- high school-- and wonder how I could have missed that it would all go by so quickly. I wouldn't change a thing though. Very nostalgic write--especially for me--imagery really works here!!

    1. Oh that is so fun Stephen! My godmother didn't live very close to us when I was young, but each time she would come, she would teach us some of her Oragami magick... I loved it, and I imagine your kids will remember it for all time.

Thank you for visiting, I will be by your blog in the morrow... I will be doing well tonight to catch up on posts! :-)
