Bugging Bella

The group at the Trifecta Challenge headquarters decided to throw a bit of random wording out as bait to those of us writers who cannot resist a challenge. Well, the words have been stuck in my head for the last 24 hours, I had to write SOMETHING... here's the parameters they gave us to work with:

The Trifextra Weekend ChallengeLink
For this week's Trifextra, we're switching things up a little bit. The 33-word stories are fun to read, but we wanted to give you a bit more leeway this weekend. The challenge is to write a response that is between 33 and 333 words long and uses the words listed below. Use the words however you wish, but make sure that all three appear in your response. Oh, and they must appear in order.

Good luck!
1. cacophony
2. soap
3. insects
...and here are the results:

Bugging Bella

"If they don't stop with that incessant noise that tree is coming down!" Bella said to her male counterpart.

"What did those little winged critters ever do to you?" Martin asked.

"There is a constant cacophony that can only be summed up as torment, even when the stereo is up their buzzzZZZzzZzzzzing is so loud that it distracts me from my work." Bella had been trying to cram for finals, but it seemed that the closer they got, the more frustrated she became. "That's IT!" Bella's face was bright red and there was no way Martin was getting in her way, he knew better than to try and stop the small tornado his wife could become.

His curiosity made him follow her to the kitchen, far enough away that she could not see him standing there. Martin could hear her cussing as she filled a spray bottle with soap and stomped outside to the front yard.

"Let's see how you like this you creepy flying insects." she yelled at the wasps and hornets buzzing around the fresh buds of her cherry tree.

Martin did his best to keep from laughing too loud, he knew she was pissed and he didn't want to make it any worse, but there she was, armed with her spray bottle full of soapy water gunning down the noisemakers.

After awhile Bella went back inside, and Martin went over to survey the damage. There they were, the tiny little things squirming around in a puddle of bubbles, He almost felt sorry for them… almost.

    1. Thank you d~. These three words were a difficult combo to get organized in my head. I would not normally put them together, so it was a definite challenge. :-) Thanks for reading.

  2. Oops! I see instead of a space bar, the letter M and B were pressed.....

    1. It's okay, if you want to fix it, you can, I will delete the other one and let the new one stand... or you can leave it.. that's entirely up to you :-)

  3. I've never used spray soap to kill bugs but, back when I kept it in the house, I used to use hair spray all the time. Funny!

    1. Hehehe, I imagine hairspray would work much faster. That would be like lacquering their little wings.
