Pedantic Poetry~
Reckless, tasteless, crimson past
prints palindromes along the lines of recollection
and insanity.
People prefer pondering particularly poetic, pedantry
when it appears to perform perfectionist piety from
beyond the pundit's podium.
Here are the remains, crusty, crumbled collections of
that which never was considered meaningful
to those whose own voices are heard
high above the choir of angels singing.

Interesting...I never did get the meaning of 'pedantic' down. stopping by from A to Z
ReplyDeleteWell here's Merriam Webster's version for you (actually it is the second definition of three, but the one that is where the take on this poem came from)
Deletepedantic: narrowly, stodgily, and often ostentatiously learned (Webster)
In my own words it is the type of learning that is pretentious, and used for vain attempts to make the learned one look as though they are more important than they truly are. Most often from my mouth the word pedantic would be followed by ba$tard.
Loved the poem and even more so your definition above. I learned new things today!
ReplyDeleteAwesome Amy!
DeleteWow, that was a tongue-twister to read in my head, let alone say it out loud! Excellent, so many P words.
ReplyDeleteGrinZ, I'm glad you made it through the slaughter of the "P's" :-)
DeleteYour writing is always so thought provoking. Wonderful poem.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kat, it's all that thinking and clinkin' that goes on in the head... some of it escapes into words! :-)
