Training new waitresses was a pain in the ass on busy days, it made Terra wonder why she had to deal with it at all on the weekends. At least this new one, Bonnie, wasn't stupid. She'd been over in the busiest section for several hours and had not yelled for help yet, but Terra knew she would eventually. Taking cash, dealing with the fast flow of trucker activity at the counter, and the rest of the family sized booths could wear a seasoned veteran out on a Sunday.

It was half way through an eight hour shift when one of the other waitresses asked Terra to take over for Bonnie.

"Sure I will, she did pretty well considering it was her first day, and it has been a busy one."

Bonnie looked like a deer caught in headlights when Terra came around the corner to take her place. "Don't be too hard on yourself Bonnie, you've done well for your first day." Terra said. Bonnie tugged on Terra's apron, and moved toward the kitchen, away from the diners.

In a low whisper Bonnie said, "Terra, it's not that it's too busy for me, it's just that I have no idea how to handle that woman at the counter." she said as she pointed her out.

"How long has she been here?" Terra asked while she sorted out how best to deal with the situation.

"She's been here for about an hour, but it's only been the last 15 minutes she's been here like that." Bonnie squirmed.

"Okay Bonnie, go ahead into the other section and I will take care of this one." Terra said with a plan in mind.

She approached the scandal: a mid thirtyish woman. Terra was careful not to glance at her bare breasts hanging out in the open, when she told her "Maam, no shoes, no shirt, no service."

  3. I love how it ended. Definitely not what I was expecting :)

My only critique is that final sentence reads awkwardly...Maybe try to break it up into two sentences?
