In celebration of Mother's Day, this weekend's Trifexctra Challenge is asking for 33 words, which will include the word "mother"… here's to weekend 16 and Mother's Day.
Womb coddled, and created.
Child.
Motivated Mother watches,
worlds change
as minute years pass
Growth.
Flagship of beginnings
cradled in arms
that bend,
but never break
the ties that bind
Mother and child.
Unconditional love makes those ties unbreakable. This was rich and soulful.
ReplyDeletejust like most of your writing
Thank you Lance. There is a bond, that most mother's have with their children. I hesitate, because I have also met a few that did not...
Deleteparents who take their beinds seriously are beautiful people through and through
DeleteYes, they certainly are. I wish there were more of us :-)
DeleteThis was a tender tribute to the loving bond between mother and child.
ReplyDeleteThank you Tara. :-)
DeleteThis poem is both lovely and sweet, the kind that leaves a smile after one reads it. :-) I like it.
ReplyDelete~Imelda
I'm glad it made you smile, and with one you could take with you :-)
Deletecapitalizing Motivated Mother gives this an edge that otherwise wouldn't be there. interesting!
ReplyDeleteThank you Marian, it's nice that you noticed the intent.
DeleteVery pretty and flowery. Can I say flowery?
ReplyDeleteLOL, well you can say whatever it is you want ODNT. When my grandmother said that about my writing it was a DEFINITE insult. She didn't like "flowery" writing. I don't know how you mean it... grinZ, but either way you can say what you like. I would expect nothing less of you.
DeleteI love how your broke this post into milestones. It flows beautifully and expresses motherhood to a tee.
ReplyDeleteThank you Debbie. You must be a "Motivated Mother" :-) If so, I hope your day is wonderful to you!
DeleteI love that you describe the bond as flexible and bends with external forces, and not against, so it never breaks. This is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sandra. The bond between a mother and their child(ren) is a strong one.
DeleteThis is a beautiful poem. Life does change, as do bonds with our children (and mothers). Often when I hear about 'ties that bind' it's in a negative sense, but I didn't feel that here. The bond is not a bad thing, it just is :)
ReplyDeleteYour insight is appreciated. Ties can be both, I had not considered the negative connotation, but I can see how that might be the case. Tied to the drone of a job people don't like, or to a person they cannot stand the sight of. I can see how it might be. This is a good tie, one that promotes, and I am glad you see that.
Delete"worlds change
