The Real (100 Word Song Challenge)

Lance at the 100 Word Song Challenge asks you to write 100 words (no more, no less) in whatever genre, or fashion you are inspired to write in, using the song of the week to get you there.

This week's 100 Word Song challenge inspiration is from the
Tame Impalas "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards"

The Real

All the real slid down your face
sideways into forever
tiny bucket on the floor of whatever
caught the remnants of a dribble
while the world around made believe
everything was real.

Once your eyes are open wide
there is no reluctance inside
just a breath we hold
and hold on to.

Where were you
when the world was laughing?
Could you hear it too?
Sounds like laughing
when they sing the blues...
Hold on, here they go again
here they go again.
The real, it feels like satin
brushes on the skin
here they go again
just like laughing.

  1. I LOVED this. And, I was using my Isaac Mizrahi voice when I said that.
That, and it's so good to see you round these parts again, k~!

    1. Thank you m'Friend. I had to go look up Isaac Mizrahi (I know I am definitely not a she-wolf fashion fiend heheh) to see what he sounded like. I did learn a bit about him, but found no voice clips. Perhaps it would be best if you offered up a clip of your own version for my listening pleasure? ;-)

      Seriously, thank you.

    2. I will try, but in the meantime, just check out an episode of "Project Runway Allstars" to get your Isaac on. Complete with hand gestures, dahling ^.^

    3. Well that's easy enough to do, my mom watches them all the time :-)

Would love to know the story behind it
    God.
    Sing it!

    1. Thank you for enjoying it. This 100 word restriction allowed me to get it out in words, perhaps in the future I will be able to be more direct... for now, singing it works for me. :-)
