Side by Side

Two lives I lead
both side by side
One full of outward
arrogance and pride
The other captivated
without name
of humble conscience
no harm, no shame?
In both, for one
this pair of eyes
would write the more
not criticize
While pen and parchment
wait for me
my heart rides on
sans frivolity.

    1. Thank you Joyce. Poetry was the first kind of writing that I ever dabbled in.

  2. Very nice! I only enjoy poetry when it rhymes and had cadence. You passed the test. I like this poem very much.

    1. Darlene, mine do not always rhyme, but I hear a sound in my head when I write them, that I just listen to. Thank you!
