R ~ Razor Sharp

Razor Sharp~

The barbed-wire existence of your toxic tongue
will make you bleed, won't feed your need
to slice the heart of an angel
without wings.

Razor lips and fingertips
can't disguise your willful lies
you fantasize
play it out as a reality
it's clear to me that you
can't see.

You're dispensable, reprehensible
mock the shoulder that you cry on
who will you rely on
when the darkness comes to call?

Darkness comes to call.
Hear the laughter as you fall
into the darkness you created
it's your bed the way you made it.

Razor lips and fingertips
can't disguise your willful lies
you fantasize
play it out as a reality
it's clear to me that you
can't see.

You make it harder than it has to be.

All the venom you pump into the atmosphere
lingers over you dark cloud
won't disappear.

It's your mind making it hard
can't you see
you make it harder than it has to be.

Razor lips and fingertips
can't disguise your willful lies
you fantasize
play it out as a reality
it's clear to me that you
can't see.

You make it harder than it has to be.

    1. Interesting that you might say "we"... the people this was written for/about were more than dark, but I would not have considered... "we" for this one at any point.

  3. Very powerful! The rhythm sings and I am hearing the words like a beat poem partly melodic.

  5. I love the way you did this. It's sing-songy in my head and describes some people I have known who had very sharp and hurtful tongues. People who made their own lives so difficult because they could not control their judgment on anyone in an effort to elevate themselves. They failed, every time.

    1. It was inspired by the kind of people you talk about. I don't know that this batch wanted any more than to be mean, though it is possible that their ulterior motives were to make themselves feel more important.

Thanks Jo, the day has been a challenge outside of the A-Z heheh... nice to see your smiling face.
