Waiting on Lillie (100 Word Song)

This weeks 100 Word song challenge inspirational song is:

The Rolling Stones: Waiting on a Friend

If it inspires you, join in the fun!

(A continuation of last week's challenge)

Trevor stumbled over the cord next to Lillie's bed landing hard on the cold floor.

"Damn" he muttered, as he pulled himself to his feet again.

He was supposed to have driven Lillie to the wedding. He couldn't help but wonder if he had…

"Lillie, are you in there?" he asked as he lifted one of her eyelids.

Lillie laughed from across the room. "Fool, you can't see me from in there."

"I am so glad to see you Trev, we have to get to the wedding. I have the cake in the car and we simply can't be late."

  1. I like the interplay between them. It's special like the relationship in the Stones song.

    1. Oh good. I'm glad that you can see the correlation. I was afraid it might be too vague.

  2. I'm a little disoriented, but 100 words isn't a lot in terms of plot momentum, so onward we go, because I am also very curious...

    1. Thanks Cameron... yeah, this is the first one I have attempted to move forward with inside the 100 word song. I am not sure I am good enough to keep that up, I may have to include pieces outside of the 100 word song challenge in order to be less vague.

    1. Thanks for being a trooper t. I was worried about this one, sending it out to sail with only half a mast, but I will probably scrap doing it in the 100 word challenge and just begin to write it... which means, I will also probably move it ;-)

  4. I want cake!!! I think you can do this! 100 words at a time. Will take skill and perseverance, but imagine being able to see it all come together!

    1. It's a really good challenge, one that I will have to think about each step of the way. I am up for it, as long as you promise to give me constructive criticism if I veer too far to the left or right ;-) Thanks Natasha
