Y ~ Your Voice

Your Voice~

The familiar sound of your voice
resides in my mind,
there to call upon for strength,
for comfort,
when the world becomes too big
to remember I exist.

  4. This is a powerful group of words crafted by your talented mind to say so much to so many. I feel this often...very often. The world is so big sometimes. That familiar voice comes into my head to remind me.... ♥

    1. Reaching out with words... the song "You were always there to remind me" is going through my head now. I do believe this poetress is beyond tired tonight... and so peaceful. Thank you for continuing to provide such wonderful responses Jo, it matters to me.

Reminds me of my favorite college professor who encouraged me so much in my writing. I wrote my first novel in his class. I had so much dialogue; my characters didn't do a lot of internalizing. Dr. R. wrote all through my manuscript, "think! think! think!" so I would add introspection. And when I write today, I hear his voice saying that to me... "think, think, think!" He was the only teacher in 16 years of schooling that EVER encouraged me so your poem brings back sweet memories. I recall his voice when I need encouragement today. Very, very nice post. Thanks!

P.S. Sorry I had to delete the first post ... errors! I hate them! :)

Thank you Jess, I understand the deletion process ;-) I do that myself, but sometimes my fingers are flying so fast that I forget to check before I post.

There is a fine balance between dialogue and internalization; I like the information that he gave you. The fact that it stayed with you speaks measures.

Thank you for posting, and enjoying the moment in this poem.

  7. What a great poem. If we only chose to find that voice when the world seems to expand.

    Cheers, Jenn

  8. Fantastic last line - I had to read through it a second time to see if I misread the first time. How easy it is for us to forget. Beautiful imagery as always.

    1. Thank you Brenda. It is easy to forget, sometimes too much so. I like the fact that my little internal Jimminy Cricket is very loud :-)
