Breaking Point (100 Word Song)

Lance at the 100 Word Song Challenge asks you to write 100 words (no more, no less) in whatever genre, or fashion you are inspired to write in, using the song of the week to get you there.

This week's 100 Word Song challenge inspiration is from
The Alarm "Strength"

Breaking Point

"Don't ignore me. Put that damned remote down." Lisa said.

"Why?" Pete asked with eyes glazed over.

"We need to talk about this." Lisa shifted to the arm of Pete's chair, pushing the remote out of his hand.

"What is there to talk about?"

Lisa had asked herself that same question hundreds of times, and never did come up with a valid answer. "You're right Pete, you keep your damned remote, the house, and the friggin dog… but I need something more." She shoved the remote back in between his fingers and made a clear path out the front door.

  1. Interesting meter. I find in my own stuff I want to put the big paragraph in the beginning-ish. I like what you did with it here.

    1. Thanks for taking a peek WG. I am not sure I have any hard, fast rules that I follow. When I am inspired I let the muse lead me (sometimes I go back and edit ;-)

Off to see what your words do when they dance!

  2. In fear of plagarism, I normally try to avoid reading other entries until I post my own. But with you, I made a pleasant exception =)
