Lance and Leroy let me pick the song for this week's 100
Word Song challenge and Nina Simone's "I Feel Good" seemed to be an
appropriate tune for the beginning of spring. It's nice that Lance and Leroy
let me pick on occasion.
Lance at the 100 Word Song Challenge asks you to write 100 words
(no more, no less) in whatever genre, or fashion you are inspired to
write in, using the song of the week to get you there.
This week's 100 Word Song challenge inspiration is from Nina Simone's "I Feel Good"
Here's my 100:
She shifted her legs into the shimmery fabric one at a time.
The pants slid over her hips, and rested comfortably where he liked to put his
hands. She could still feel his breath over her shoulder, when she put on the spring
green camisole that brought out the green in her eyes. She checked her look in
the mirror, and added a bit of colour to her lips.
"Yeah, I feel good," she said.
Months of physical training had paid off, today she would
tackle the 6 miles to work at an easy pace, comfortable in her own skin.
I totally visualized the mirror image as well...great piece. Vivid and calm.:)
ReplyDeleteThank you Laura. :-)
DeleteSix miles sounds good. Is she gonna run the entire way or do the Galloway Walk-Run method? I know, I know, she sounds like one of those skinnies who run the entire way.

Hehheheh. I imagine it will depend on how big the dog chasing her is. :-)
DeleteI love the positive vibe to this k~! The idea that she is her own cheerleader makes her unstoppable. I mean, unless a bus were to inadvertently hit her I suppose.
ReplyDeleteThanks t~ It's kind of an easy going write.
DeleteSuch a great, easy feel. To feel such comfort!
ReplyDeleteThank you :-)
